Joann Moore has worked for over twenty years as a senior leader in a variety of schools across a range of London boroughs. The majority of her time has been spent as Assistant Head and Inclusion Leader at a four form entry school in Barnet. She has always strived to ensure a ‘whole school’ approach to SEND which puts inclusion at the heart of any school.
Currently Joann works in a special school. This involves her working with families and settings to support the early identification of and planning for children who have complex special educational needs. It also involves her continuing as an Education Advisory and school-based consultant within Barnet for SEND. This has seen her support a number of settings on many issues relating to SEND. These have included carrying out SEND reviews, mentoring new and aspiring SENCOs, and providing school and borough-wide training on a variety of SEND subjects. She is also a school governor and trustee of a MAT board in Hertfordshire.
