Programme Overview
Bannockburn Primary School is working in partnership with the London Leadership Strategy to deliver a 6-week behaviour leadership programme aimed at securing even better Behaviour for Learning in schools.
The course is a 6-week programme aimed at teachers and teaching assistants, with a specific focus each week providing opportunities to observe best practice in behaviour for learning as well as develop tools to be used in the classroom and beyond.
Bannockburn Primary School will be piloting the course for the first time this term starting on Friday November 9th October and then running for three consecutive Friday mornings until the end of the autumn term, recommencing on January 18th until the final session on Friday 1st February. As part of the programme, delegates will be given support materials, handouts and practical support from course leaders. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Programme Content
The course content includes sessions on:
- Establishing a positive learning environment
- Effective use of ‘rules’, a fresh look at rewards and sanctions
- Verbal triggers and language of behaviour
- Dealing with low level disruptive behaviour
- Building positive relationships

We will be evaluating the impact of the programme and providing feedback to schools about the successes of colleagues who have taken part.
