Programme Overview
LLEs and NLEs are school leaders who are committed to system-wide leadership and improving the life chances of all children. Using skills and experience built up over at least three years of leading a successful school, they provide bespoke peer and school-to-school support to bring about sustainable school improvement.
Programme Structure
Suitably qualified heads recruited using strict selection criteria are trained, carefully matched and deployed in schools requesting support.
The support is completely bespoke and is tailored to meet the needs and issues identified by each school. From a wide portfolio they are, for example, able to provide:
- intensive support to a school that is vulnerable or below floor standards
- coaching/mentoring support for a new headteacher
Although the length and nature of the support varies according to the needs and context of the school receiving the support, the minimum number of days which can be requested is five days.
Programme Benefits
NLE and LLE support can help:
- raise standards of teaching and learning
- improve leadership capacity
- raise pupil attainment
