
Programme Overview
Built on the success of the Strategy’s head-to-head peer support work, this programme focuses on bespoke school-to-school support provided by highly skilled and experienced practitioners at middle and senior leadership level.
Through the client centred consultancy model, these outstanding teachers provide coaching and capacity building support to individuals and teams in other schools.
Programme structure
Specifically recruited and trained middle and senior leaders with a track record of being involved in system leadership are matched to schools requesting support. This includes support from newly designated Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs).
Although the length and nature of support is driven by the needs and context of the receiving school, it is focused mainly on the following areas of specialism:
- Numeracy
- Literacy
- Inclusion
- Early Years
- Assessment
- ICT
and the support package agreement will be for a minimum of 5 days.
The programme includes an initial ‘audit’ or diagnostic visit with recommendations for development, as well as follow up coaching/mentoring support to build capacity for improvement.
